Tatties are potatoes
Stovies is a Scots dish - more popular on the East coast but eaten all over Scotland. Potatoes, left over meat, onions - some use corned beef, some even use sausages. Do a site search for stovies, I'm sure I've posted a recipe - although it was a long time ago. |

I found the recipes...at first I thought y’all were describing hash browns ...similar to the ones you might find in a diner in the states–as they say here—scattered and smothered, but when I saw a picture, stovies look like a mixer similar to a stew...thanks for the information

I used to eat black pudding for a full Scottish breakfast, but whenever I get a full English one, it’s not there! So every time I feel as if something was missing. It strikes me that there’re more pudding lovers among Scots than English. Black pudding - Marag dubh (in Scots Gaelic) |
