Trust me, it is truly foul.

One of my islander relatives is on the list for getting one & I do my best to avoid going along for a plate of the oily fishy/metallic-tasting slop she makes out of it.

They even have waiting lists for it? I'm sorry but it makes me chuckle... the traditions that people hold onto.
Now I'm curious... How much does it typically go for?

No guga in our family, however, I think my Dad tried "dookers", a local Tarbert (Loch Fyne) staple back in the '30's etc.

Dookers are guillemots and Tarbert folk were even given the nickname "dookers" by other Kintyre and Argyll folk.
