Asparagus is not a spring crop in Scotland. Try very late May/early June as the start of the season!

Still root crops here and cabbages, kale, brussels etc

Here, too, but the birds are nesting and it's time to think of starting seedlings indoors.

i love strawberries!

I suppose radishes would be early, too... they only take a few weeks to grow.

Boy, not around here! We don't get anything much before the end of June, unless it's been grown in a greenhouse.

We are still shoveling snow!

We do have a lot of really HUGE commercial greenhouses here in Ohio, though i think they produce mostly seedlings for nursury markets so private gardeners can get an early start. By HUGE i mean, if you can imagine field upon field next to eachother all covered with long clear buildings, taking you a bit to pass on the road... there you have it. I tried to find a pic to link here, but unfortunately i'm not finding one.

I think here, too, we don't start getting much local produce until the end of June, but i'll keep a lookout and see if i can learn more.
