Question French influence in Scots cuisine and architecture due to the Auld Alliance ?

Can anyone cite French culinary influences in Scots cuisine ?

We butcher our beef and lamb in the French manner - eg we eat gigot lamb chops, but pronounce it jiggot. Assiette, a french word for serving dish is translated into Scots as an ashet.

Many of our famous puddings and cakes are traced as beng introduced in the time of Mary of Guise and her daughter MQS.
