But... I'm sure your right. If if moved to Scotland and tried some of its beers i probably wouldnt consider Miller a beer either, But its what i grew up with and came to like so I consider it a beer.

The best beer i have ever tasted (which we dont get in Scotland) was the Fruh Kolsch in Koeln, Germany.

Here's the thread when you last tried to persuade Scots that Miller Lite was good!

Have any of you brewed your own?

My housemate was doing it last year with friends. All the equipment is here, and i hope this year to join in. The only thing i don't like about it, as at a certain point the smell in the house is just awful, hahah.

Many years ago (17-18 years?) my ex-boyfriend and i used to do a lot of brewing... we made heavy, stout, barley wine, and a sort of honey beer that i think was pretty close to being mead.
When we split up, he kept all the equipment, and i never thought about brewing again until this last year...
I keep threatening my husband that im going to start it up again, but i doubt i really will. It's a lot of work.

cut the work down to half and brew your own in kegs, get the old post mix soft drink kegs, a beer tap hanging out of the fridge door hook up some gas and start drinking. That is the quick version of how to do it, however brewing in kegs does cut down on all the bottle washing and the 2 week wait period ( for those wanting to wait that long)
