I think I had as many girls with Italian names in my class as we Scottish (with nae ither lineage) girls - names like D'Agostina, D'Angelo, Risi, Valvona, Crolla etc

Shhhhh - you'll keep upsetting this Scottish-American man...
Why can't you mention her name?

In the 'other place' we had a member (from Canada, strangely enough) who wanted us to agree that 'she that cannae be mentioned' was a good singer.. After we all recovered from the state of panic and shock that such a suggestion caused..... it was agreed that 'she that cannae be mentioned' wouldn't be mentioned (if you see what I mean!)

We love 'oor Tallies'!
There was an interesting programme on TV recently about this... and also about the Poles that emigrated here during the war.

Now I understand. I can't recall what she sounds like - so I can't comment on her talent. Sad story though. Her name shall never pass my lips, er... fingers again.

Only a true Scot would feel such deep emotional trauma at such a thing. I do hope with time and therapy you can get over the pain that my inconsiderate and senseless typing has wrought.

Weel, I am not going to lie about this SJ - the trauma is far-reaching and long-lasting. But, being a brave Scottish housewife, I WILL be made stronger by this trauma...

I thank you for your consideration in this matter
