I need information on Scottish Staple foods and I don't really know any. Could you help.

I guess you mean trtaditional Scottish foods? The Scots eat what we all eat, but they are very well known for traditional foods such as Neeps (turnips) Tatties, (Potatoes) Beef, Venison, Salmon, Whisky, great cheeses, Oats in many things, Mutton, Cock a Leeky Soup, Scotch Broth, Shortbread, Marmalade, Tea. . .

Read through the threads in this forum and you will find a lot of traditional Scottish foods and recipes.

Yes the name of the soup is very cute.. made me giggle. I know that its not a Scottish soup, but my favourite is Potato Leak..

Cock a Leekie soup is Chicken and leek... it's not 'cute' it is very descriptive.
