I was just curious as to what the batter is that they dip the mars bars in. Does anyone know? I kinda want to try it, but I can't really go to Scotland for two or three more years.
Would you suggest trying it at home? *Unsure look*

Thanks.

Keep in mind i've never tried it either, but i'm pretty sure it's the same batter they would use for fish'n'chips.

Did you know they say Mars bars are marketed in the U.S. as Milky Way bars?

Here's an earlier thread discussing the 'delicacy'...

I don't know about the U.S., but in Canada we have Mars bars, and Milky Way bars, and they are similar, but different.

Mars bars helped Nancy Green win a gold medal in the 1968 Olympics

I think you guys misunderstand. Yes, i know we have Mars Bars and Milky Way Bars in the U.S. and Canada, and that they are slightly different from each other. What i'm saying is, i've heard that what is a Mars Bar in the U.K. has the Milky Way wrapper in the U.S. and Canada (i've heard this from more than one source, too). In other words... if you want to taste a deep fried Mars Bar in the U.S. or Canada... i hear you need to deep fry a Milky Way bar. got it?

I'll try to verify this with some of my Scottish friends who've come over.

Wink

Cool. Thanks for the clarification. The way you had written it before made it sound like they were the same bar.

I was confused.
