GREEN AND BLACK TEA: Comes from the same plant. The only difference is that black tea undergoes a process of oxidation before consumption.

LEGEND HAS IT THAT a Buddhist scholar severed his eyelids to be able to see and study all night, and where his eyslids fell there grew the first tea plant.

CHINA WAS SO ENAMORED with tes that it refused to accept anything from the west except gold and silver as trade compensation. Great Britain eventually stole the secret
of tea and began to farm it in India.

ICE TEA WAS INVENTED at the 1904 world fair in America, but previously we were a coffee drinking country due teo its availability and actions against British tea taxes.

THE SUFUS, ISLAMIC MYSTICS were the first to brew coffee as a drink. Because Muslim countries prohibited alcohol, the coffee house was born as a substitute for the tavern.

IN THE 1600'S, THERE were 600 coffee houses in Constantinople! They were the only public places where the various social classes could mingle and discuss politics.

IN THE 18th century, a Swedish ruler conducted an experiment and offered twins, convicted of murder, the choice of drinking nothing except coffee or tea for the rest of their lives as punishment. The one who chose coffee lived longer.

AT ONE TIME, MONEY grew on trees! The Aztecs used cacao beans as currency and prepared their chocolate with chili peppers and as a soup base.

CHOCOLATE CONTAINS SEROTONIN and can relieve stress. It was considered a feminine drink, whereas coffee was considered manly until it started to appear pakaged in markets.
