Wink

I have to admit to an aversion for peanut butter sandwiches on white bread. I just don't like it. It gets stuck to the roof of your mouth and my mother always associated it with cheap lunches from the school cafeteria that only kids who's moms could not cook endorsed as a real lunch. Lol. I know it is comfort memory food for some. But, I never liked them much.

I think chicken soup is a universal favorite. I wonder how many people like their version of it on cold winter days?

Mine is good I think....but diversity is good.

Green bell peppers,
potatoes (golden yukon ones)
onions
garlic,
skinless chicken cut up in parts
mushrooms
white wine
olive oil
fresh mascerated basil oil
a splash of bitter seville orange juice
salt and white pepper to taste....

And ofcourse some white rice just enough to create some interest...

Adios....

you made me hungry

I hate no loath no detest brains, headcheese, chicken liver, heart, blood pudding, durian fruit, and rare meat.
I love alot of foods but my comfort food would be Calamari hands down with tsadziki...or a nice toasted Bagel and cheese anything ...I love cheese...it is my downfall...or perogies with melted buttler and bacon and cottage cheese or sour cream...or tacos with all the trimmings...it depends on the season and when it is hot I go for a nice fruit flan and shish kebabs on rice pilaf...I'm a cook so food is my life lol!

Thumbs down

I do not like the any following, in the slightest:
onions, of any color except green(bad experiences w/ them in the kitchen, and just have never like the things)
squash(just unfamiliar)
eggplant(same as w/ eggplant)
radishes(spicy)
corn(only because it's one of those things i can't eat)
grapefruit(pink ones are ok)
strawberries(i've only had bitter/tart tasting ones)
certain kinds of lettuce(bitter ones)
most salad dressings(except Ranch)
any kind of pepper (when used whole, or in large chunks in a recipe . . . cut up small, they're fine)
muenster cheese(acid indigestion spelled w/ an "m")
swiss cheese(just tastes gross)
cheddar(only because i can't have it)
brie(w/ some syrupy alcoholic stuff poured on it . . . blech)
cooked organs(w/ the exception of haggis, for some reason)
oysters, cooked in any fashion, or raw . . . utterly disgusting, especially when fried

I can't stand liver or any other kinds of organ meats, BIG-time; most shell-fish, except for deep-fried shrimp; venison, buffalo, elk (most wild game); brussels sprouts, okra in any form, a number of different kinds of veggies, pomegranates, soy milk, soybeans, the list could go on.

Food i will not eat : Humans, Primates,rats/rodents, Brussel Sprouts ( they are evil things!), Oyesters,Blood, brains/spinal matter and particularly oderous cheese.

Rest, i am all open...am mildly allergic to tomato sauce (but strangely, not ketchup).....
Suzy-i used to be an okra freak as well....but unfortunately its hard to come by where i live(Vancouver) and i am too lazy to find out how to cook it.

DistantCelt, sounds like you're braver than I am when it comes to foods. Regarding okra, actually I can't stand it in any form, let alone anything else I had on my list. My ex-husband just loves the stuff, mainly breaded with seasoned cornmeal and fried.
