I am Canadian, and when I visited Scotland I thought the bacon tasted perfectly natural - i.e. it tasted like the bacon from home. So I assume that Canadian bacon (also the name of a great John Candy film) is similar to Scottish bacon.

My neighbor is from Nova Scotia and says the same. BTW was there ever a John Candy film that was not great? Or at least that he was not great in? The good die young. The good fat ones die even younger.
