Why is it that most American beers available in Scotland taste like the product of diabetic horses?

I don't think American beers taste like a "product of diabetic horses" ... I think they tast like water with beer flavour.

Information from the transatlantic cohort on firstfoot.com would suggest that there are good U.S beers in most localities. They just don't make it to the U.K.

On the other hand, there's no such thing as bad whisky - just stuff that's less good.
