I love it with vanilla (bean) or cinnamon (ground is fine).

Word of advice: Never store your beans in the fridge or freezer, you'll ruin it. Just keep it on the shelf and allow the oils to stay fresh. That is, if you buy the bulk beans grind them yourself.

More advice................

Thou shalt not lend thy coffee bean grinder unto thy brother - OK - the CelynBrother - save that thou fully expecteth never to see it in working order again.

Me, I like the lack of fuss of using a cafetiere (also called French press in some places, I think). BUT, I now try not to drink much coffee at all, unless I can think of a good excuse, you know, busy morning, bad day ahead, an "r" in the month....... etc.

Mention of chicory reminds me, for some reason, that I am sure I had coffee flavoured with figs(unless memory is playing tricks). It was suposedly a Viennese style: it was very nice coffee, actually. Maybe I should look out for that and acquire some.

(ooooohhhhhhhhhhhh, and it was in the Pancake Place cafe and there was also lots of cream and bad things, and why do I remember that now when I have been eating quite healthily all day? This is NOT good! BAD bad Holly-Elise

I'm going to try the coconut, FallenAngel.

Celyn, you're just lucky there is an "r" in this month! Don't you know there are no calories in cream or sugar in "r" months? I thought everybody knew that!!!

Lone_Clansman good to see you again! Why is that about the freezing? Is it because of the auto-defrost? I have mine double-bagged, each air sealed, shouldn't that be okay?

Denisse my housemate's parents are cuban. I think i will ask her about cuban coffee, though she is not a coffee drinker herself.

Talking

Freezing the beans will dry them out to a degree. The more the oils dry, the less flavor come through. Hense, the longer you freeze them, the more the flavor will be reduced.

But then again, fresh coffee beans never sits on the shelf long enough to worry about it.
