Well, as I don't have enough to do with my wee one, my studies, history research, baking, writing and kitchenwork I must look for something new to do...

Now, this is but a joke, but really, I am highly interested in any recipies for homebrewed beer, Scottish-style if possible.

You get some Guinness, some Kilkenny (but don't ask the price!!!) over here in Germany, but I loved the Scottish beer my friends brought some year for our annual meeting and it is impossible to get it here.

Me thinks it must be possible to brew some beer at home? My grandpa could do so, he even had a special beer for sick people and all that...

Okay, so if anybody could please help me, I would highly appreciate your answers!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks heaps!

Arrow homebrew

It has been at least 15 years since I made homebrew, so i dont think i have the recipes any longer. But you can buy kits... there are lots of homebrew shops all over the UK, and there is even a homebrew section in the bigger Boots shops. But as you are not in the UK, maybe you should try

I dont know if they ship to Germany and I dont know if they do a Scottish style ale, but its worth a try. Or just do a search on your favourite search engine... youre likely to come up with loads of suppliers and recipes.

It's only 'stench' if you're not doing it properly!

You could also pick a few brains on the forums below.

http://www.homewinemaking.co.uk/cgi/yabb/YaBB.cgi - British

http://forum.northernbrewer.com/index.php - American

Don't know about suppliers in Germany though, after I'm done with my cider I'm gonna try either 80/- or Oatmeal Stout. Not sure where I'll ge the bits a pieces for that in Holland though...
