Wallace or Somers Clan

I am looking to track my heritage and need some HELP!
My GreatGrand mothers' name was Minnie Wallace she married a Somers who changed his name when they came to the US to the spelling of Summers. I am looking ot find any starting information that may put me on the right track.
When they moved here they lived in the Kentucky Ohio valley region.

I am of the Summers (Somers) clan if that would be of any benefit. However, the Somers (Summers) clan does not have its own tartan. It is directly realated to the Lindsay clan.
