You said it was many years since you had seen the books your parents brought back from Scotland and that you might have been wrong.... I just pointed out that I had never heard the information and agreed with you that I thought you had remembered wrongly... Where's the insult in that?

I'm a Scot. I'm a Stewart. I know my clan history! That's all I was saying.

You came on here and posted information as fact. I questioned your 'fact' - and you admitted you might be wrong...

Oooooh, you mean you have a bit of German, Italian etc ancestry as well as Scots.... Hmmmmm..... subtle.

Come back to the thread when you've learned a little more about Scotland, its history and its culture. I would then be happy to discuss the matter of clans and their septs with you. Until then, I won't bother.

I am reminded of visiting a Clan Campbell tent at a Highland games once - I was wearing a Kilt and the man in the tent said "SO, are you another wannabe?" "Well" - I sputtered, "I'm a Cameron, not a wannabe anything - and if I did "wannabe" something, it wouldn't be a Campbell".

You realized that I'm not just Irish/Scots, have Italian, German, and French which makes me one mixed up American. What do you think I am trying to do?
