I'm from Edinburgh, a Stewart of Appin. Family are from Invernesshire and Argyll.

Steward/Stuard (with Ds) are still found in Scotland. After all, the name came from the Lord High Steward of Scotland.

And I have no 'royal' Stuart ancestry - as far as I know (just minor landowners, lawyers and teachers)

clan stewart

Hi, I'm a Stewart, Hayley Stewart.

My family belong to the Stewart's of Appin.

Most of my family live in a small town near Inverness called Dingwall.

Any Stewart's please feel free to contact me at any time, post your comments here and I'll get back to you with my e-mail address.
Thanks

Hello.
I am also a Stewart. I am told that my family is from the Royal Stewart line, but I can't be sure of that since I haven't been able to trace my family back too far.
What I do know is that, before my great-great grandparents on my fathers side (the Stewarts) came to Canada, they lived in/near Inverness.
William James Stewart married Hannah Jane Roberts. That is as far back as I can trace (William was born in 1887)
If anyone can point me in the right direction as to where I can get more info, that would be wonderful.

~Penny

Smile Stuart/Stewart

Hi there! According to my family geneology, we're said to be related to Lydia Tanner, the daughter of William and Amy (Hutton) Stuart, who was said to have descended from the Stuart royal family of Scotland, and on her mother's side from Miles Standish of Plymouth Colony. I'd love to learn more about the Stuart royal family, if anyone has any information they'd like to pass on. I'd really appreciate any info I might recieve!!
