Question TRUE SCOT or a WANNABE?

Is there anyone on this that ACTUALLY is a TRUE SCOT??
It kills me when someone says "Hey I am Scottish." Oh really how, well my great, great grandpa was Scottish. Where you born there, did your parents live there? Do you live there now? I am an American and damn proud of it, I am married to A TRUE SCOT, from Glasgow. Since we have been married we have seen it over and over again (almost daily) "Oh I am Scottish too" My Great, Great........
The sad thing is the Americans are the worst about doing this - be proud of Country! If you are a wannabe - move there!

Wink vague-ly Campbell-ish here

hey all!
My great, great, great, geat, great, great, great, (that's seven "greats") granmother was Hannah Campbell. She was married in Tennessee in 1747, and I think it was her granfather (perhaps her father?...) who originally immigrated, although i don't know those names. I suppose that makes me a Campbell, too. Although, it's always been my Douglas ancestors that I associate with Scotland (my great granmom was a Douglas....not sure how they made it to the USA).

Erm Polwarth

watch it!

Yes another Scot, this time from the Dear Green Place (Glasgow).

I enjoy hearing all you guys talking about your love for my country, however I must point out a few things:

1)It is impossible to trace direct lineage back to 985! absolutely impossible.

2)By that principle I am related to Kenneth McAlpin, the first King of Scotland. Och Great Uncle Kenneth, I remember him well!

3)If you are a Burns then you are a Burns, and should be proud of this. I am a Duncan (sept of Roberston) but I don't think of myself as proud to be part of the Clan Robertson. The name Duncan in itself has loads to be proud of. As does Burns.

But for all you romantics out there, I understand your need to feel part of this wonderful country then feel free, you are all welcome!
