Talking

Am looking for any relatives that can tell me about my family. I can't remember the father's name but I think his name was Angus or something like that. The children were named Isabel Janet, James or Jim and Elizabeth. Elizabeth married a gentleman with the last name of Higgins. Isabel Janet married a gentleman by the name of David Langley Rodger. Can you help?

David Langley Rodger

David Langley Rodger (known to us as Langley) was my uncle. He emigrated to Melfort, Sask in the early 1920s where his uncle William Rodger was manager for a grain company. He worked on a farm in the summer and was a homesteader in the winter. Later he owned a garage/service station before becoming a representattive for the North Star Oil Co.

He married Janet (Netty) Fairbairn in the 1930s I think. They had two children of their own (Sheila and John) and adopted Jim and Peggy who I believe were related to Netty. After the war they lived in Prince Albert, Sask and later in Grand Prairie, Alberta before finally moving to Edmonton. Langley died, I believe in the early 1960s.

I met Netty once in the mid-1960s when she visited my parents in England. I met Jim several times - he was in the Canadian Navy and used to visit when he was in England. I have now lost contact with all my Canadian cousins.

I have a lot more info about Langley and the Rodger family if you are interested.

Hi

Well apparently I'm also your cousin. My Mother was Margaret Isabel Rodger, she married Norman Edward Chapman Harper March 23, 1963. You also have a cousin Shelia Van Der Kley and another John Rodger. Uncle John still lives in Edmonton and I'm not too sure where Shelia lives in Ontario.

Shelia married and had 2 sons Langley and Robbie and when I talked to them last both of them were married with families of their own.

Uncle Jim Rodger is married and has 3 children from his first marriage James Pan and Lori and all of them have families of their own but I'm not too sure who has what.

My Mom passed away in March of 1997, and I know that we had cousins in England and Scotland but she wasn't too sure who tho.

My name is Beth Snider and I married Everett in November of 1988 and we have a son named Terrie Vernon Edward.

So yes I would love to get more information about my other cousins. My direct email is synner@telus.net

Oh still interested Janet passed away in 1988, Peg passed away in 1997, and Uncle Jim is still alive but not well the last time I spoke to him
