Robert McIntosh / Edinburgh Tattoo 2012

Hi, Robert McIntosh was my 3rd great Grandfather, born 1781 in Scotland and died 1829 in Australia. I have information on his life and family here in Australia.
I need help, I wish to attend the Edinburgh Tattoo in 2012 but are unable to find the actual dates it will be held. I intend to organise a six week holiday arround this event and need to start making booking etc. can anyone help? thanks Jencyn.

Tickets usually go on sale in January/February Here's a link to the Official Tattoo site - you could also do a google for 'Tattoo 2012 tickets' as other agencies also sell tickets. I know that a lot of UK travel firms do Tattoo packages, ie hotels, other excursions and the highlight of the Tattoo - perhaps you could check for them?

I forgot to say, the Tattoo is held in August - and hotels can be hard to come by during that month because of the other Festival(s) being held at the same time, eg The Book Festival, TV & Film, The Fringe - and others!

That's probably because this year's Tattoo is still in the future and they won't want to confuse people by adding in next year's info to the site! Try again at the end of August/early September!

It won't be significantly different from this year. Plan your trip around this year's dates (5-27 August) and you'll be ok.
