Wilson of Larkhall

I have struggled for years to find my Wilson family as all I know is that my g g grandfather John Wilson and his brother Andrew came from Larkhall. and came to Canada early 1800. I have pretty well given up and this is kind of a needle in the haystack asking for any Wilson people to reply but here is hoping!! All my roots are from Scotland and I can't find one person left there related to me, there has to be someone out there!!

Hello - there used to be a Larkhall discussion group for people who originated from there and some who still live in the area. I'll see if I can locate the URL and will send it to you via the PM system on this site.

They weren't much into genealogy that I know of, but may be able to help - but I suspect your dates mean that they will only be able to tell you of current locals - and Wilson is a very, very common surname in Scotland!

Hi, i justed started working on the Wilson Family tree and came across your email. We live in Ottawa and my husbands Grandfather was a John Wilson that came over from Larkhall in the 1800's. Did you ever find any family in Scotland, I believe my husbands Uncle Scott went there before he died and found some family. His email is gregory.wilson@sympatico.ca
