Looking for Thomson Clan

I'm trying to locate some family. I'm a Thomson through my grandfather Thomas Thomson. (He swears that Thomson has no "p" in it!) He was born in the Edinburgh area, I think Durham County. I'd have to pull up his records to be sure. (Forgive me if I have the county wrong. His records are packed away and hard to get at right now1)

Durham County is nowhere near Edinburgh - it's in England

I kind of thought I was wrong...ha.ha..I might've been thinking of my grandmother, she was born in England. Thanks for the info. Would you by chance have any info on the Thomson family?

Scotsgait...curious...while also making conversation if I may, your name has to do with something like a "stride, or walking" - is that right? I'm sure you chose the name for a reason. I chose fiesty because that's what I am - fiesty, but I'm very much a lady, hence, fiesty_lady. How about you?

I'm afraid not.

In Scotland, "gait" is a road, often leading into a town. My website is a portal leading to a range of things of Scottish interest - hence "Scotsgait".

That's truly interesting. I followed the link, it looks like it's in Gaelic. I think I understand most of it. I also checked out your website - cool! Nice talking with you.

Catch you another time.

It's not Gaelic, it's Scots. They're two completely different languages

Thomson is a name claimed by many 'clans' - including Campbells and the slightly newer, MacTavish - however, there is also a newer American clan society which if you google, should give you lots of information.
