Hallstatt kilts

Has anyone investigated the connection between the Hallstatt tartans of 8-5th cent BC and later setts? This tartan-style has been identified with the ancient Tocharian tartans of west China, and thus seems to have been influential. Is it possible to relate that to Scotland and produce any implications?
