Seems like Auld is arguing other minor details trying to derail us from his original statement. So, there's no real use to continue this thread. I guess we can all rejoice that there exists one or two documents written from the Highland Scots perspective over the last few thousand years.

Wullie wears old drawers. Well, Wullie, I suggest you and Dunt camp out infront of the national museum of art before anyone can jump the line... and hold those drawers up to every portrait in the building.... heck, make a dash throughout all of Scotland... hold it up to every potrait in the land... to see which one it matches... only to return home disappointed since the fade doesn't match up with an artist's non-standardized paint scheme.... alas, the rejection you may feel may be overwhelming.... so go have a pint to forget your worries.

I have only been able to find Irish Cannons, but he says we are Scottish and that he researched it while over there on an extended vacation a few years ago. I really want to get him something in our clan tartan for Christmas, but obviously I want it to be the correct one. I looked on the House of Tartans website, but there was no tartan for Cannon. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Wow, a lot of debate here! Katie how did you get on getting the tartan in time for Christmas? I don't know that much myself about Clan's and their respective Tartans I have to say but I have a company client that's a kiltmaker, that's their website, Kiltmakers.com - Kilt Makers, Tartan Specialists, Kilts worth a look.

Hope you got on OK and hope the debating stays friendly

P.S. just wondered from curiosity... my second name is Healy, I've always wondered if that ever was a Clan name, in Scotland, I think it was an Irish one, I know the name Healy is an Irish one but like I said, I've always wondered...

would appreciate a little chat if anyone knew!
