Although the clan Morrison was not really considered a clan until well after others were, they are still well-respected among the Scots. Please write if you have anything to say.

On the Register of Ancestral Names, site www.in***ey.com/hall/product.htm they reference both an Irish & Scottish history for the name of Morrison which dates back earlier than the 11th century.
The Scottish Morrison hails from the Isle of Lewis, (howdy neighbor, as a MacWilliam I'm from the Isle of Harris), and the Irish Morrison from, (Yeats love), Sligo in NW Ireland.

I'm sorry but the above link was not accessible - could be the firewall here, maybe not...

Just for the record, you may get all the information you like, but the Clan Morrison has its roots in Scotland. The northern part of the Isle of Lewis to be exact. So I do not know where you are getting the info that the roots are from Ireland because that is a lie.

The site list the Scottish Morrison first and yes, they claim the origination is from the Isle of Lewis. Under this info they state that after 1100 that parts of the clan moved to other countries. After this they reference the Irish Morrison (perhaps emmigrating from the Scottish Isles into Ireland), which has it's own Coat of Arms, etc.
I'm assuming you could e-mail the site and protest that concept if you feel so strongly about the matter.
