![]() On the Register of Ancestral Names, site www.in***ey.com/hall/product.htm they reference both an Irish & Scottish history for the name of Morrison which dates back earlier than the 11th century. The Scottish Morrison hails from the Isle of Lewis, (howdy neighbor, as a MacWilliam I'm from the Isle of Harris), and the Irish Morrison from, (Yeats love), Sligo in NW Ireland. ------------------ Di (aka ^..^ ~ Willy) |

Just for the record, you may get all the information you like, but the Clan Morrison has its roots in Scotland. The northern part of the Isle of Lewis to be exact. So I do not know where you are getting the info that the roots are from Ireland because that is a lie.

The site list the Scottish Morrison first and yes, they claim the origination is from the Isle of Lewis. Under this info they state that after 1100 that parts of the clan moved to other countries. After this they reference the Irish Morrison (perhaps emmigrating from the Scottish Isles into Ireland), which has it's own Coat of Arms, etc.
I'm assuming you could e-mail the site and protest that concept if you feel so strongly about the matter. ![]() |
