Ummmmkay, pleasantly enough I will tell you it did mention the Morrison's of the Isle of Lewis, but you already knew that!! <hehe> Sorry, I'm in rare form today.
So then, what do you want to talk about?

Thanks Willie, that is a bit funny eh? I know I'm scottish/irish. it's been drilled into my head since I was a small child and proud to be both. I also have a bit of Cherokee indian in me from my mother's father's side. Geeesh how confusing. But as for MY father's side, The Morrison's, it's like his grandfather never exsisted. I can find NOTHING on him anywhere. My grandmother's name was Davis, so see, I have tons of names to try and deal with here. And yes I have also found lots of places that say Morrison is also an irish name, people do immigrate from here to there. I mean that's how so many sctosman ended up in the USA.

Ok yes, I'm back already, and I meant scotsman up there not that horrible misspelling. Any way I found an interesting website: www.tartans.com/articles/morrisona1.html
so anyone interested go check that out. I have no idea if it means anything to my name but ya never know.

Cool

COOL Sasskat!

I know what you mean....I always knew we were Scots-Irish but didn't have records to track down specific relatives. I knew that my grandmother grew up in Londonederry Ireland, (Her name was Helana Jane Bonner), and that she married my grandfather McWilliams in Ireland. I have been having so much difficulty researching "relatives" further than that.
As for migrating from the Western Isles into Norhtern Ireland, geographically, it seems to make all the sense in the world. I didn't have the chance to make it all the way up to the Isle of Harris...but maybe next trip!
