Woodrup - origins?
Hi there.
My husband is a Woodrup and has been told his name originated in Scotland. Can anyone shed any light on this? Woodrup isn't a very common name so would be interested to find out more about it. Thanks

According to The Internet Surname Database the name is of Anglo-Saxon origin... more info can be found in the link to the site itself!

Cheers for the link, off to investigate now.
Husband has some idea (flight of fancy??) that it has something to do with Rob Roy, and changes of name as a result.
