WOW! I was very impressed with the imediate and helpful information. Kudos to all of you. By the way Celto- where can I find the information you have- I hate for you to have to type it all. But your stuff was very helpful. We have on old Celtic family bibleIt's covered in some kind of animal skin and has the celtic rings on the front. I was told( not reliably) that it was seal hide. I was also told it was over 200 years old- the written information inside has faded to the point of not being readable. Any ideas?
Thanx again

Willy,

You are right, it is time for big bucks now. LOL!

mcgeeprinting,

I found the info on the McGee family in an old out-of-print book on Irish families that I have on my shelf. I am pretty sure it is not in print. But it is a beautiful volume. If you are still interested, and want to see if you can dig it up, when I get to my office I will get the title, author, etc. for you. (Godliness is next to all of my books!!!)

Anyway, I would love to see this Bible of yours. I have collected over 50 volumes of different Bible translations.

I would think that there has to be some markings in it that would help us determine exactly what it is. If you cannot find the information in the front of the Bible, look at the pages between the Old and New Testament and you may find it there. In many of older translations that is where you can find the date and etc. If you get that info. I would gladly (enjoy) helping you out.

mcgeeprinting,

I forgot something. If you want to read the print that is faded out here is an idea that has worked for me. Scan in the page and then magnify the image. You can also weed out markings that make the letters hard to read. I hope this helps.
