Lady Lovely Lady,

I am not sure I can be of much help. I will do some digging, but the two names you mentioned, I don't believe are Scotish.

If I were you, I would go to the genealogy site under clans here and punch up the two names. I think that will give you an idea.

Hi Lady,

I did find that the name Myers (Meyers) is an Irish name. In fact, it was originally spelled, O'Myer. However, keep in mind that the boarders of each country did change. I know, for example, that my name is as Scottish as it can get, but the name was first originated in northern Ireland.

I haven't found any info on the other name yet. I'll keep digging in some of my other books. Nonetheless, it is true that you are a bossom-body of the Scots. You are a Kelt/Celt. Welcome to Scotland.com.

Personally, I'm looking for a Thomas MacDonell, a great-grandfather. He was from across the pond. He was born in Ireland, but was half-Scots. I've little information on him.

Hi Thanatos,

If I may ask, why do you use the Greek word death for your name?

Anyway, take a look at the genealogy sites under clans here. You will find it really helpful.

To help you understand your heritage Scot/Irish I would encourage you to read the book "Scotch Irish" by James G. Leyburn
