Redford

Hey everybody,

My friend wanted me to ask if the last name Redford is Scottish. She had a employee at a Scottish gift shop look through books, to see what her tartan was and the employee could not find it. She also looked in Sept clans I think.

IT'S not Scottish.

I think it's of English origin, and means (perhaps unsurprisingly) "red ford".

Well, I think so.

However, there is "Redford Barracks" in Edinburgh.

If anyone knows where it got that name from, then please put your answers on a postcard!
