No-one put any words in to your mouth, you are the one that brought religion in to this discussion. Or do you recall none of the conversation? If not, here's a reminder:

The implication there is that only Christians are able to change the way they see things. And yet a great many Christians are incapable of doing just that.

Religion has absolutely nothing to do with this subject, so why bring it up in the first place? Personally I think you would have been better off not feeding the troll instead of making yourself appear to be one!

Perhaps my humour was misconstrued. Perhaps not.

You win! I'm NOT a Scot. Nor will I ever BE a Scot! I'm not even of Scottish descent. I no longer claim to have Scots as ancestors. In fact, I have absolutely no affiliation with anything Scottish. I am only a plastic scot, a Canadian wannabe. So, I apologize for "posing".

If it helps you to sleep at night, knowing that I hate myself for not being like YOU, then sweet dreams.

I shall not post on this board any more nor will I frequent it. I am not worthy of having a say about anything Scots related. I am less than equal. My apologies.

For a moment, I thought some of you actually gave a damn what someone a half a world apart thinks of Scotland and her people.

cheers

Some of us DO.

And.... if anything proves you 'ain't' a Scot..... your leaving does.

Everyone knows that a Scot could cause a fight in an empty house... we never run away from a stooshie...

Maybe its YOU that needs to read this thread. No one is telling anyone what they can or can't call themselves. All that is being said is that some people in/from Scotland won't accept it if people of Scottish descent call themselves Scots! There is a BIG difference! So how about you stop being a troll and at least attempt to grow up!

saying - SOME people wont accept an american or canadian calling them scottish is bollocks. The vast majority of scots would not accept them as scottish and thats fact. Everyone I know rolls their eyes at foreigners pretending to be scottish.

BBC NEWS | Scotland | Scots identity linked to accent here is an example of what scots consider part of what makes you a REAL scot
