I'm not even remotely romantic about my ancestors. Most of them had pretty hard lives - farm labourers and weavers in the main, and then working on the railways following the "lowland clearances" when the number of people working the land was drastically cut and they were forced into the towns to find work. Very few of the men made it to 60, though the women appeared to last a bit longer!

Did you even take the time to read that poem? I bet your parents are quite proud of your point of view of THEIR parents.

AND...

As a fellow human being, I'm embarrassed for you even taking the time to write these words down. Are you a Christian? Have YOU ever met Jesus?

Well then my friend, nothing I can ever say will ever change how you see things. So, please have a nice day and enjoy the rest of your life.

Anyone who isn't Christian is incapable of exercising the more universal principals that Christianity teaches? Dangerous line of thought, that one.

Please don't put words in my mouth. I said nothing about non Christians at all. In fact, I am quite open to other faiths and non faiths alike. Now, before anybody labels me a "Bible thumper", let me explain a few things. I have meditated with Buddhists at Shambhala centers with Christians, Jewish, and Atheists alike. Even as a Christian, I subscribe to many teachings of the Buddha. However, I have also studied Druids as well as Allah and the Qu'ran, and dabbled (albeit shortly) in Judaism.

This doesn't make me a better person, just someone who can see all sides, right or wrong. And, in my life, there is room for ALL believers and non believers alike, so, I consider myself of open mind.

I chose to not continue to argue with greenscot because his/her tone in the last several posts seemed to be hostile. And I wanted to save all of my strength to argue with you Scots whether I can call myself "Scottish".
