Waste of time

What a bunch of gas bags. What’s with this belonging to Clans and wanting to be Scottish bull----? I’m a man in what ever country I’m in and if you were standing in front of me you’d know it. I just happen to have family that came from Scotland and its worth something to me to know more about them. The men in my family have fought for other people in this world as well as themselves and its worth knowing more about who their fathers were. I’d think you would know something about family pride being from Scotland and ALL THAT. What a waste of time……………………..

Eanruig, family pride has nothing to do with "being from Scotland and ALL THAT" - it is simply being proud of your roots no matter what nationality you are! We don't have a problem with anyone wanting to know about their ancestry - good luck to them in tracing that as its not always easy to find or even confirm details - its when these same people say they ARE Scottish when they believe there is a connection! Have a read through this and other forums connected to Scotland and you will see the same repeated all over the place - and I stand by my earlier comments that the most irritating of those with a Scottish connections, and at times a rather small connection at that, that try to tell those of us in Scotland what we should be doing with our lives in the country that we, not they, live in!
