Hello everyone,

Thank you for your help me and understand better about Scotland. So I had been search and found that my about 15th or 16th or 17th great grandfather William Stedman married to Margaret Anderson in 1554. I found Anderson's Tartans but I don't know which right color tartans for Margartet Anderson's family. Please let me know ASAP Thank you very much.

Hello Elaine,
Unless Margaret was a clan chief, with her own special tartan (somehow I don't think that's likely, women's lib not having caught on in the 1500s!) then you are entitled to wear any or all Anderson tartans - just choose one that you like!

There are no 'tartan' police, so if you like another tartan better, for instance the Black Watch or the Royal Stewart, then wear it!
