I don't know if there are any threads of the Gunns besides the one, I was curious about the modern Gunn Clan. My mother's side of the family is Gunn and they aren't really interested unless I tell them about information. Basically they like the stories but not enough to go fishing. sorry, anyway I am an AMerican but I want to know my Scottish Heritage and my extended family-sorta family I suppose. Thankyou

The Clan Gunn has no Chief at present - but I believe they have a leader (Commander), Ian Gunn of Banniskirk, appointed by the Lord Lyon Court in the absence of a proven Chief of the Clan. Mr Gunn lives in Northern Scotland, and visits the US regularly.

Here is the site for the Clan Gunn Society USA (note not clan but a clan Society, there is a subtle difference!) which has some history and information.

There is a huge amount of incorrect information on the internet concerning the Gunns - so ensure that you verify any information you may have from at least 3 sources... and often, books are a better resource than the net in this regard!

Two genuinely Scottish-based sites which have information on many clans, Scots history and culture are

Gunns are numerous in Caithness, right at the very north of the Scottish mainland.

James.
