Clans

Marhar, I joined Scotland.com thinking that in the Clan forum there would be a positive input from people who desired to learn and at the same time, pass on information that they had obtained, to other forum users.
From some of the posts coming on site this does not now appear to be the case.
Should you not use your descretion and reject those posts which have nothing at all to offer serious forum users, thus keeping up, which up until now, has been an excellant site. Brandane

Brandane, Thank you for your input, as you will have noticed I always give posters a second chance and if that fails ,after they have been told to cool it I will delete any further postings that are not in keeping with this Forum
It is nice to know that someone at least appreciates what we try to do in here, but research takes up a lot of time and sometimes I miss out on a few nasties

did you email fear nam beantann? he's american but he can sort of speak Scots Gaelic. he will know what you are looking for. i'm not very intelligent when it comes to Gaelic.

That name definetely looks Gaelic. I can't find it in any dictionaries, though. It's probably Irish.

What about the name Mauchline which is a town in Scotland?
