Hi, I'm looking to find information about family who may still be living in Scotland. I was there in 1997, however did not have the time to look for reletives the way I would have liked. My family on my Fathers side left from somewhere in WesterRossShire way back when. I'd love to hear from anyone having any information on the name Murchison.

Hi there, with regard to your search for family members still living, please do wait till Marhar is back, he`s a real wizzard when it comes to such tasks. Mackenzies, I know we do have some around here. If it is clan info you are looking for, please let me know, in order to find friends among the Mackenzies, try the pen pals forum. All the best.

I have unfortunately found no info at all on Murchison, but it sounds a bit Irish to me...?

Murchison, Murchieson etc

Hello, JD - Murchison can be Irish, but it is also recognised as a sept by the Buchananans and the MacDonalds, according to two different sites I visit

Polwarth, Marhar - thanks. My sources said Irish, but seems like there´s always something new to learn. I mean Ireland is soooooooooooo far away from Scotland that certain clan ties NEVER did appear, huh?

Sending greetings to both of you on a sunny warm day with blooming flowers all around!
