Question

Are there any Fraser's among the folks on Scotland.com? Anyone else go to the Clan reunion in Aberdeen in August of 1997. It was a great time. I'm still searching for the right dates to find my great grandfather's connections in Motherwell. Would love to speak with any other Fraser's - who knows we could be related. Nellie

Smile Fraser

My mother was Elizabeth Fraser born in Bathgate in 1911. Her parents were Thomas Hume Fraser and Rose Norton. My father was David Young born in Glasgow in 1915. His parents were George Young and Mary MacKinnon. I would like to get more information on my ancestors and talk with possible relatives.

Smile Fraser Clan

Hi Dave Young:
My name is Nellie - I'm in the USA. My grandfather - Oliver Fraser was born in Scotland either in 1882 or 1881 - in Motherwell or surrounds.
He emigrated to the US early in childhood - so did not have the Scots burr - but I am trying to track his father....and that's about as far as I have gotten.
The Fraser names in Motherwell/Glasgow area would be: Andrew Fraser, William Fraser, and Oliver Fraser (probably senior). Andrew Fraser was supposed to have been a mining engineer - and great grandfather Oliver a coal miner.....
Now there is a chance that my grandfather Oliver Fraser was a son of Andrew or William and that there was not another 'Oliver".....that is part of the research.
Oliver supposedly had brothers and sisters - Tom Fraser, Jesse Fraser and Jean Fraser (later Hall)...
Those are my links. Would be happy to speak with anyone on email. Thanks for the reply....Nellie in the USA

Hi Nellie2, I just became a member of the forum and saw your enquiry. I am a Fraser from the North of Scotland. My family came from Alness and I have just started looking into my family tree. Where do your Frasers hail from?
kurgen.
