Cool Try Edinburgh Castle.
Mamabaer16 - If your Grandfather was in the army during the first world war (you mentioned he was demobbed in '19, so he must have been, then Edinburgh Castle had documentation (huge books) with all who participated in the army. I found my Grandfather's name there. Good luck to you.
