I'm adjoining my comments rather late I'm afraid but it is my favourite film and I have to ring that particular bell.

People whine and moan about it not being historically accurate.

True, Robert the Bruce never betrayed Wallace; he was in fact the greater Scottish hero ultimately but so what really?

The spirit of the times was captured and it's a movie that has given Scotland its 15 minutes of fame. It's a beautifully captured story of the reasons why people end up taking a side in any conflict.

Didn't make me hate the English more, I don't hate anybody. It does give one a reason to love Scotland a bit more and encourages some to support Scottish independence; that can't be a bad thing.
