Christening stone

Hello -
In the year of 1969 I went to Scotland for the first time, with my wife and my brother in law, who was a scotsman. Among the places he took us to: a small road in the countryside, we came to a little church, on the opposite side of the road a stream with a lot of stones spread around, in the middle of the stream a particularly bigger stone with a round hole in the center all trough, so that you could reach down, grasp a handful of water, it was used for christening (baptising) om former days. Nearby we saw cattle grazing. I wonder if any of you people could tell me where it is, unfortunately my brother in law passed away some years ago, and I would like to go back some time. - Thanks.
