Car Battery...To help keep battery posts and cables free of corrosion, cover them with a thick layer of regular petroleum jelly.

Or, to clean them, you can put on some gloves and rub them down with some cola.

Car Windows...To remove those stubborn bug spots on your car windshield, simply rub with a damp rag or mesh onion bag dipped in baking soda. Works on your chrome too.


Chrome Cleaner...Apply baking soda on a damp sponge or cloth. Leave on an hour or so and then rinse off with water and dry.

To remove minor rust marks from your chrome bumpers, simply rub them with aluminum foil wet with cola,.


Exterior Windows...To remove pressure-sensitive stickers, try saturating with salad oil before you begin scraping.

Plastic net bags (cooking onions are usually wrapped in them) will remove insects from the windshield
without harming the glass. Some commercially available nylon pot scrubbers will do a good job too.

Baking soda on a damp rag will easily lean dust and grime from glass and chrome surfaces. Be sure to
rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth.

Tired of scraping ice off your windshield? Store a box of fine-grained salt in the trunk and rub on
built-up ice.

Tar can be removed from the exterior by soaking the area in linseed oil. Allow a few minutes for the tar
to soften, then wipe with a clean cloth sprinkled with linseed oil.


Carpets...Remove stubborn salt residue from carpeting by rubbing with a mixture of one part vinegar to two parts water.
