EDINBURGH, Scotland (Reuters) -- A young Scots designer is dragging his tartan national dress into the 21st century by producing kilts in PVC, fake leather and leopard-print -- complete with a pocket for mobile phones.

"The response has been really good," a kilted Howie Nicholsby at Edinburgh-based Geoffrey (Tailor) Highland Crafts told Reuters on Tuesday.
