Smile Love Hurts

The BBC produced a record to accompany the series. The cover was made to suggest this was the actual anniversary LP.
The number on the record sleave is Ren629 and the cassette was ZCN629. Produced by BBC Enterprises (in london!) in 1987.
The record was called Tutti Frutti and was by The Majestics.

Side One - Almost Grown; Rockin' Through The Rye; No Particular Place To Go; Promised Land; Rip It Up; Bye Bye Love.
Side Two - Great Balls Of Fire / Tutti Frutti; Love Is Strange; That'll Be The Day; You're Sixteen (You're Beautiful And You're Mine); Love Hurts; Almost Grown / Tutti Frutti.

The cover describes this songs as follows -

Love Hurts - "Vincent again takes the lead on this 'cri de coeur'; a gut-wrenching performance from Scotland's 'Iron Man of Rock and Roll'. A cleaned up version of a recording made at the Oil Slick in Aberdeen in 1986. Danny McGlones somewhat lighter vocals on this track are the perfect foil for the leading guitart's (genuinely pain-wracked solo-line)."

Vincent Diver (guitar / lead vocal)
Danny McGlone (electric piano / second vocal)
Fud O'Donnell (bass)
Bomba MacAteer (drums)

I picked up a copy of the LP on e-bay for 99p last year. I'm sure you'll find a copy at record fairs, a good second hand record shop, or keep a look out on e-bay.

Good luck.
