As the 25th anniversary of this popular annual event, the 2009 Scottish International Storytelling Festival promises to be a celebration of the rich tradition of Scotland's narrative storytelling. The festival, which takes place from 23 October to 1 November 2009, includes both local and invited international storytellers sharing stories, ideas, experiences and histories of home, homelands, identity and a sense of belonging.
For more than five centuries, Scots have travelled to, and settled in, far-off lands. With 2009 being the Year of Homecoming in Scotland, this year's event looks set to be extra special, as Scotland's finest storytellers and guests from New Zealand, Australia, North America and the Carribean share their considerable talents with appreciative audiences.
