More than 40,000 spectators are expected to cheer on the 8,000 plus pipers and drummers from 16 nations as they do battle on Glasgow Green for the World Champion title. Indisputably the largest event of its kind in the world, the World Pipe Band Championships 2010 offers contestants and spectators alike a day of entertainment, camaraderie and good old fashioned Scottish hospitality.
The program for the day will include exciting competition across all Grades, Highland Dancing, the Drum Major contest, and the Glasgow World Highland Games Championships. In addition to the main event on 14 august, Glasgow's George Square, and a range of surrounding venues will be buzzing with Piping Alive activity from the 9th to the 15th of August - be part of the action!
