Ancient Treasures of Kilmartin Glen
Situated about 25 miles south of Oban in Argyll, surrounding the village of Kilmartin, the historic site of Kilmartin Glen contains one of Scotland’s most significant concentrations of Neolithic and Bronze remains. It is believed that this area was occupied as far back as the Mesolithic Age (6,000 to 4,000 BC). With more than 350 ancient monuments in the area, there is certainly plenty of evidence of human occupation through the ages and discovering the archaeological treasures of Kilmartin Glen can be a fascinating experience.
The Unique Attraction of Fossil Grove
It is hard to imagine what the earth looked like three hundred and thirty million years ago. Illustrations and artist impressions give us an idea of the landscape and vegetation, but the Fossil Grove in Glasgow, Scotland, gives visitors the rare opportunity to journey back into ancient times and see the fossilized remains of part of a forest that once thrived in Scotland. This magnificent find was discovered in 1887, while workmen were working in an old quarry to landscape a park.

The arts organization, Imaginate, in Scotland, was established to enrich the lives of children up to the age of eighteen with quality productions and performances. Not only do they aim to entertain their young audiences, but to inspire, educate and hopefully encourage them to develop their own talents. Together with the support of the Bank of Scotland, the Imaginate Festival will again open a world of performing arts to the youth of Scotland.
Explore the Historical Royal Mile of Scotland
The Royal Mile in Edinburgh, Scotland, is the most historical mile of cobble stone streets and buildings that can be found anywhere in the world. It is made up of side streets, namely Lawnmarket, Canongate, Castle Esplanade, Abbey Strand, Castle Hill and High Street. The mile starts at the top of Castle Rock, the Edinburgh Castle, and runs all the way down to the legendary Holyrood Abbey. With so much to explore, between browsing the eateries and small shops, the Royal Mile is the busiest tourist attraction in Edinburgh.
