Located in Beauly, just 13 miles from Inverness, is one of the best art galleries in the Highlands, the Kilmorack Gallery. Traveling down Cannich Road you will come to an interesting church with a big lizard decorating it, this is the fine art gallery of Kilmorack. Housed in a church building dating back to the 18th century, Kilmorack Gallery is definitely worth a visit.

Kilmorack Gallery is renowned through the Highlands for promoting original artworks by local artists. Visitors will be thoroughly impressed by the symbolic, massive works which line the inside of the gallery. Numerous exceptional, talented artists are featured in the Kilmorack Gallery. Paintings have been created by artists such as James MacCallum, Ian Charles Scott, Peter White, Leonie Gibbs, Michael Forbes, Kate Leiper, Ingebjorg Smith, Ruth Brownlee, Kirstie Cohen, Nael Hanna, Sarah Carrington, James Hawkins and others. Sculptors you will see at the Scottish art gallery include Ronald Rae, Eduard Bersudsky, Hamish Mackie, Mo Farguharson, Gerald Laing, David Williams-Ellis, Frances Ross and more. Ceramic artists featured at the Kilmorack Gallery include Lotte Glob, Allison Weightman, David Cohen and Shona Leitch.

Kilmorack Gallery is involved in the Own Art scheme. This program falls under the direction of the Scottish Arts Council and is a major art loan plan.
